How We Give Back

At Island Eyecare, charitable giving is incredibly important to us. We value our community and want to do whatever we can to give back.

Every quarter, we rally to support a different charity, turning our passion into action. It’s not just about donations—we bring the fun into fundraising with casual Fridays, where staff contribute $2 each to wear their casual best.

Organizations We’re Proud to Work With

We’re passionate about backing organizations that reflect our values and community spirit. We’re actively involved with the Lion’s Club, CNIB, and Cape Breton Hospital Foundation, contributing regularly through donations and collaborative projects.

Every Christmas, we embrace the spirit of giving by participating in Adopt-a-Family with the Every Woman’s Center.

We’re also honoured to have supported other remarkable organizations, including:

Emergency Care Residency Program: Sharing Our Experience

Dr. Shaun MacInnis is excited to welcome a resident through the combined Family Medicine/Emergency Medicine residency program at the local hospital. The residency will provide valuable hands-on experience in ocular emergency skills, allowing the resident to learn from Dr. MacInnis’s expertise in managing a wide range of eye conditions.

Dr. MacInnis is passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of eye health care professionals. He looks forward to sharing his knowledge and insights.

Innovation & Advancement Award

We’re humbled and excited to share that we’ve been honoured with the 2024 Innovation & Advancement Award from the Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce. The award is presented to a CBRM business that is pushing boundaries and reshaping its industry.

It’s incredibly rewarding to be recognized for our efforts to bring innovative solutions to our industry and community. We’ll continue to strive for excellence and provide outstanding experiences for our community
